The oldest car brand in the world — Karl Benz patented the automobile in 1886. Today: the S-Class as the global luxury benchmark, the G-Wagen as the indestructible icon, and two performance/luxury sub-brands (AMG and Maybach).
Mercedes' in-house performance arm, founded 1967 by Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher in Großaspach. Each AMG V8 is hand-built under the 'One Man, One Engine' rule, with the builder's signature on the cam cover.
Mercedes' ultra-luxury sub-brand, reviving the Maybach name (a German marque from 1909). Maybach S-Class, GLS, and the new EQS exist to out-Rolls-Royce Rolls-Royce on the inside.
