The F80 is Ferrari's sixth flagship halo car, following the GTO, F40, F50, Enzo and LaFerrari, and it breaks with all of them by not using a V12. Instead, its 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 is derived from the 499P that won Le Mans in 2023 and 2024 — a 120-degree hot-vee unit with electrically assisted turbochargers, each turbo carrying an electric motor on its shaft to spin it up instantly and to recover energy from exhaust flow.
That engine alone makes 900 hp, the highest specific output of any Ferrari road engine. Two front-axle electric motors and a third motor at the gearbox bring the total to 1,183 hp. The front motors also enable torque vectoring and full electric parking manoeuvres.
The aerodynamics generate around 1,050 kg of downforce at 155 mph, using an active rear wing, a huge S-duct through the nose, and a body shaped around airflow to a degree that Ferrari's designers describe as being led entirely by the aero department. Suspension is active, with a 48-volt motor at each corner controlling wheel movement independently and eliminating anti-roll bars.
The cabin is asymmetric — a "1+" layout with the passenger seat set back and trimmed differently to emphasise the driver.
Only 799 are being built, all sold. It is the most technically advanced car Ferrari has ever put on a road.
